Cam Schlittler was dominant again Tuesday night, striking out 10 over seven innings without issuing a single walk, as the Yankees beat the Rockies 5-to-3 at Yankee Stadium. It’s Schlittler’s sixth straight start allowing one run or fewer, and he’s now up to 13-and-6 with a 2.01 ERA. Ryan McMahon delivered the go-ahead hit, a tiebreaking double against his former team, and Heliot Ramos added a three-run homer in the eighth for insurance.
The night’s real headline, though, was Aaron Judge. The Yankees captain returned from the injured list for the first time since May 31st after missing 84 games with a fractured rib. He went hitless in three at-bats, but his mere presence back in right field was the story.
The win clinches New York’s 34th consecutive winning season, extending a streak dating back to 1993.
