Due to the termination of its police services contract by the Town of Allegany Council Members, the Village of Allegany Police Department will no longer provide emergency services or routine coverage to the Town of Allegany outside of village limits.
According to the Village of Allegany Facebook page, this service disruption directly impacts all residents living outside Village limits, including St. Bonaventure University campus.
Law enforcement within the Town of Allegany will now be fully handled by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
For all emergencies requiring immediate police, fire, or medical assistance, continue to dial 911.
For non-emergency law enforcement inquiries or to report a non-urgent matter within the Town, please contact the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office directly at (716) 938-9191 or the New York State Police Olean barracks at (716) 373-2550.
