A night to forget for the New York Yankees. Tampa Bay beat New York 5-2 in Game Two of the American League Division Series Monday night, and the Rays now lead the best-of-five series two games to none.
It was sloppy from the start. The Yankees made four errors, three of them in the first inning, a number that ties a postseason record for a first inning. Starter Cam Schlittler did not get out of the fifth.
At the plate, Ben Rice was the only Yankee who delivered. Rice went two for three with a walk and hit two solo home runs, accounting for both New York runs. That comes after the Yankees managed just one hit in Game One.
New York now has to win three straight to survive. Game Three is Wednesday night at eight Eastern at Yankee Stadium.
