Penn State and Pitt both lost on the road Saturday.
Penn State’s losing streak is now four. The Nittany Lions fell at Michigan, twenty-one to eighteen, and are three and four, zero and four in the Big Ten. Rocco Becht threw for two hundred sixty-seven yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice and lost a fumble. Chase Sowell caught eleven passes for a career-high one hundred fifty-one yards, including the last touchdown of the game. But Penn State rushed for just sixty-five yards. Purdue is next, October thirty-first.
Pitt blew a twelve-nothing lead at Boston College, losing twenty-seven to twenty-one, and is now five and two. First-time starter Corey Dailey hit Cataurus Hicks for a seventy-five-yard touchdown on Pitt’s first play, and a blocked punt made it a safety. Dailey finished with one hundred ninety-three yards and two interceptions, and Pitt ran for one hundred ninety-nine. Antonio Chadha made four field goals, but the Panthers drew thirteen penalties for one hundred thirty-three yards. They visit Miami Saturday.
