A lightning strike caused a fire that damaged a Johnsonburg house this morning.
A state police fire marshal says lightning hit the roof of the Willow Street house at around 2:40 a.m. By the time firefighters got there a few minutes later, the second floor was engulfed in flames.
The fire marshal says the lightning strike caused a power surge that started the fire in the roof and attic area.
Damage is estimated at $153,000. Owner Linda Boulais does have insurance.
No injuries were reported.
