New information is available about yesterday’s house fire in Allegany.
According to the Allegany Fire Department, the fire in a house on Four Mile Road was reported shortly before 3 AM. City of Olean, Derrick City, and Bradford Township fire companies were on standby while mutual aid was provided by Westons Mills, Knapp Creek, Limestone, Hinsdale, Town of Olean, and Portville. Aerial operations were set up and additional tankers requested from Cuba, Killbuck, and Otto Township.
An investigation revealed the fire to be accidental in nature, and 10 occupants of the building made it out safely.
