The Pittsburgh Pirates and Sheetz today announced a multi-year partnership in which the ultimate one-stop shop convenience chain will serve as the club’s first jersey patch partner. As part of the marquee partnership, the Pennsylvania-based retailer will have its logo featured on the sleeves of Pittsburgh Pirates home and away jerseys, beginning on Friday, June 21 when the team hosts the Tampa Bay Rays. Pirates players and front office leadership joined Sheetz executives during an on-field press conference at PNC Park on Friday morning to make the announcement. The sponsorship agreement looks to solidify Sheetz as an iconic staple of the Western Pennsylvania region while raising national brand recognition. This strategic partnership will feature marketing efforts and collaborations that will engage Pirates fans and Sheetz enthusiasts, including ballpark signage, in-game activations and unique social and digital content. Beginning today, Pirates fans can purchase jerseys incorporating the Sheetz patch at the Pirates Clubhouse Store at PNC Park. All Nike Elite jerseys sold at the Pirates Clubhouse Store will now include the Sheetz patch, while fans purchasing the Nike Limited jerseys, blank or customized, will have the option to add on the Sheetz patch for a cost of $10. As part of today’s announcement, the two organizations came together to host a youth baseball team from Moon Little League at a local Sheetz for a unique “Sheetz Run” experience with Pirates players Colin Holderman and Oneil Cruz as well as the Pirates mascots. The group was treated to a special in-store shopping experience where everyone selected their favorite Sheetz treats, before enjoying their snacks in an outdoor picnic setting where the Little League players got to ask some of their favorite Pirates questions and spend some one-on-one time with these local heroes.
