Bonnies Swimming Standout Named Atlantic 10 Swim Rookie of the Week

St. Bonaventure swimming standout Phoebe McLaren has been named as the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’ s Swim Rookie of the Week. That was announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

McClaren picked up a win and a second-place finish in Saturday’s dual meet with Cornell.

The Boulder City, Nev. native posted a time of 10:31.13 in the 1000-freestyle to claim victory. McClaren holds the second-fastest time in the A-10 conference this season in the event, swimming 10:29.15 at the Colgate Invitational Oct. 12.

Against Cornell, the rookie also finished second in the 500-free with a time of 5:09.59.

Her quickest time this season in the event came against Youngstown State where she swam 5:08.33, cracking the top 10 in the league this season.

McClaren and the Bonnies swim again Nov. 21-23 at the Magnus Cup hosted by Cleveland State.
