PennDOT announced that its McKean County Maintenance Organization will close a portion of Route 46 in Foster Township on Wednesday for a pipe replacement project.
Replacing the 54-inch pipe located about 1.25 miles north of the intersection with Route 646 will prevent uncontrolled water flow from damaging the pavement and extend the service life of the road.
While the road is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 646 and Route 246 around the closure.
In the event of rain, PennDOT will start the work on Thursday and the work is expected to be completed in one or two days, but all schedules are weather-dependent.
