Erie County District Attorney Jack Daneri is expected to begin a probe into a fatal shooting that occurred at a gun range 3 days before Christmas this week and determine what, if any, charges are warranted in the case.
26 year old Robert Eppley and an unnamed 28 year old man were taking turns firing a new pistol when Eppley who had just finished firing 5 rounds turned and started firing at the unnamed man who was about 10 feet from him. A 67 year old man in a neighboring stall saw what was happening and opened fire shooting Eppley several times.
Eppley was pronounced dead at the scene. The 67 year old man was questioned and released. The 28 year old victim was treated for multiple gunshot wounds and released. As of last week police had been unable to determine any issues between Eppley and the man.
All I know is that the DA needs to talk to his immediate family because the
Police didn’t. The DA better see that the evidence shows there was no reason to murder Robert. He was shot in the back. The man that shot him could’ve easily disarmed him without killing him.
The DA really needs to talk to the family and see all the truth. There was no need for the 67 year old man to shoot him in the back to disarm him. It only takes one shot to disarm someone and that doesn’t require murdering him.
