A Kane man was arrested Thursday for attempting to solicit child porn.

Kane Police charged 43-year-old Jason George Gorrie with felony attempted sexual abuse, felony solicitation of sexual abuse and felony use of a communication facility.

The charges stem from Gorrie allegedly attempted to get nude images from someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl over a two month period, but the “girl” was a member of the online child predator group 814PredHunters, who provided the information to police

Gorrie was remanded to the McKean County Jail and is scheduled for central court on July 31st.

 

10AM THURSDAY

An Olean woman and a Franklinville woman were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on N. 12 St. in Olean early this morning.

Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department charged 33-year-old Heather M. Chase of Olean and 26-year-old Noelle R. Coen of Franklinville with a felony count and a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.

Coen, the driver, was additionally charged with Criminally Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and numerous traffic infractions.

The charges stem from deputies allegedly seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view during the traffic stop.

When they stepped out of the vehicle, Chase allegedly had a clear plastic baggie of crack fall out of her shorts.

Coen and Chase were found to be in possession of Psiolcybin and Crack, While Coen also had packaging materials, a scale, and a switch blade.

Both Coen and Chase were released under supervision and are due in the City of Olean Court at a later date for further court proceedings.

10AM THURSDAY

District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer announced the contents of the drug collection boxes across McKean County were collected and destroyed Tuesday.

A total of 162 lbs. of medication was collected for the 2nd quarter of 2025 from April 1st through Tuesday.
