A man accused of abusing seven Brittany spaniel dogs has waived his preliminary hearing on animal cruelty charges.
53-year-old Christopher Lawton is accused of confining the dogs to cages that had feces in them, but didn’t have food or water. A decaying rabbit carcass was also found in a small cage.
Police say the dogs had fleas and a foul odor that they could smell when they stood in the driveway of the Interstate Parkway house.
The McKean County SPCA took custody of the dogs.
