The Bradford Area Public Library honored two former board members and longtime volunteers during its annual report to the community Monday evening.
Although they are no long on the library board, Madeline Miles and Lee Ann Doynow still actively support the library. Doynow heads the volunteer services and Miles remains passionate raising money for the endowment fund. Her dream is to make the library self-sustaining financially.
The library recently started a capital campaign in hopes of raising money for a new roof, technology upgrades, refurbishing of the community room, a new circulation desk, and security cameras.
Capital campaign chairman Bob Esch said they are at 30 percent of the $250,000 goal. The campaign is named “Mad About the Library,” in honor of Miles.
The annual report showed that nearly 600 new people got library cards last year.
