Saturday America honored our men and women who have serviced in the armed forces of the United States. Many ceremonies took place around our area to honor these brave men and women. One such event was a veteran’s day dinner put on by the First Wesleyan Church of Bradford. The free chili dinner took place at Emmaus Road located at 16 Congress Street. Pastor Terri Niver and a number of members of the local Wesleyan Church were on hand to serve our veterans. Pastor Niver says that 10 veterans came in around noon. These army veterans spoke with the members of the Wesleyan Church about their military service. Emmaus Road is operated by the First Wesleyan Church of Bradford as a community outreach center. The Wesleyan Church holds church services every Friday night starting at 6 pm for those who can’t attended a Sunday morning service. Also on Wednesday nights at 6 pm at Emmaus Road the church offers a youth group for area teens.
