The Chicago Cubs ripped the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday 7-1 on WESB.
Cubs starter John Lackey got the win allowing two hits and struck out four over six innings keeping the ball on the ground and the Pirates off balance all day. The first four Chicago runs came against Jameson Taillon, who gave up eight hits in five innings. Jordy Mercer homered leading off the fifth for the Pirates only run. The Pirates dropped two of the three games in the weekend series.
