Mother’s Day is this coming weekend, but that didn’t stop the Bradford Public Library from celebrating mothers a week early. On Saturday afternoon, the Bradford Public Library hosted a Mother’s Day Tea. Little girls wore dresses and were given colorful hats to wear. Boys wore ties and jackets to celebrate their mothers. The tea party was in memory of Adrianna Magnella. Ms. Magnella worked for the Combined Airline Travel Office in Washington D.C. making travel arrangements for government officials. Later she owned and operated a pastry catering business called Cin Cin Biscotti in Bradford. She died on August 18th, 2014 after a battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Adrianna’s mother Gisele Meissner Magnella has been a teacher of foreign languages for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and the Bradford Area School District. She donated Adrianna’s tea pot collection to the Mother’s Day Tea. Each Porcelain tea pot in the collection was shaped like a small building. One of the tea pots was even shaped like a set of library bookshelves. Judy Carr of the Bradford Public Library spoke with us about Saturday’s Mother’s Day Tea.
Mrs. Carr designed the elegant table settings and the photo background for the Mother’s Day Tea.
