A fire Thursday morning destroyed at Port Allegany home. State Police Fire Marshal Greg Agosti says the fire began in the laundry room of the single story home at 108 Katherine Street when a plugged dryer vent sparked a lint fire and ignited the wall. The fire then quickly spread throughout the home. 38 year-old Heather Nance and her five children escaped the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Nance was treated at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation.
