A man accused of throwing a punch at one Bradford police officer and scuffling with three others has waived his preliminary hearing.
31-year-old Robert Johnson of Bradford was charged after an early morning incident on August 26 on Mechanic Street when he allegedly swung at a police officer who already warned him about public drunkenness tried to arrest him.
Court papers say police eventually had to use a Taser on him because he was resisting all four officers. After they got him handcuffed and into a police car, they asked if he had a weapon. He said he didn’t, but when they searched him they found a pocket knife.
Johnson is free on bail.
