A man has been charged with cruelty to animals after police found seven Brittany Spaniel dogs in unsuitable living conditions at his residence on Interstate Parkway in Foster Township. Court records indicate that 53 year-old Christopher Lawton of Bradford confined the dogs, which had fleas and smelled of a foul odor, to cages with feces and without food and water. A decaying rabbit carcass was also found in a small cage. Police say they could smell a foul odor coming from the house while standing in the driveway. The McKean County SPCA took custody of the dogs.
