McKean County President Judge John Pavlock swore in four new Court Appointed Special Advocates of McKean County on Friday.
Zoe Hatcher, Joy Jeffrey, Jean Luciano and Jo Wolfe completed 30 hours of training over a nine week period. The Advocates are trained community members appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children during dependency cases. Among their duties, CASA volunteers assist the court in determining the child’s best interest when it comes to being returned to parents, placed in foster care, or be put up for permanent adoption.
With the four new volunteers, the number of CASA advocates in the County rises to 36.
