A state trooper was shot during a traffic stop this morning in Philadelphia.
A state police spokesman says 31-year-old Patrick Casey is in good spirits at a hospital and is surrounded by family and his fiancée.
Casey was with two other officers when the car was stopped for having an expired registration. During the stop, a man got back into his car, drove away and rear-ended a school bus. His car and the bus caught on fire. There were no children on the bus.
The suspect rammed Casey’s cruiser, then drove along side of it and fired at the trooper.
