A local poet is organizing a poetry slam that will be held next month at the Bradford Area Public Library.
Paige Thomas, who is also a local high school student, has scheduled the event for 3 p.m. June 3.
A poetry slam is a competition at which creative performance artists read or recite their original works of poetry. The poetry slam movement has grown exponentially since it started in Chicago in 1984.
Proceeds from the sale of refreshments will cover the cost of future poetry slams. Contact the library to register.
The event is free and open to the public.
If you or your kids are more into visual arts, Silhouettes by MHC is holding a Kids Summer Art Series. The classes include watercolor painting, sketching, batiking.
There are two classes each in June and July and one in August.
