The Joe Gibbs No. 18 Car that won in Phoenix over the weekend was flagged in the post race inspection.
The No. 18 Toyota driven by winner Kyle Busch, did pass the post race check at ISM raceway, but had one minor infraction, a lug-nut violation.
A single lug-nut was found not safe and secure and Sunday’s TicketGaurdian 500 race, where Busch claimed the 52nd Cup victory of his career. Under the guidelines in the 2019 NASCAR Rule Book, the minor infraction resulted in crew chief Adam Stevens being fined $10,000.
The inspections come with a stiffer deterrence structure that includes disqualification for significant rules infractions.
The No. 18 car was otherwise compliant with NASCAR’s rules, and the victory will stand.
