Three of the four people accused of forging names on nominating petitions for the Bradford mayoral race have been arraigned.
Josef Godfrey, Nikki Elliott and Lena Lewis are all charged with forgery, tampering with records, and related offenses in connection to the petitions being circulated by Lewis’s husband, Slim Lewis. His arraignment has been moved to May 31. Godfrey, Elliott and Lena Lewis are scheduled for preliminary hearings on May 23.
Court papers say that all four people admitted to county detective Linda Close that they each forged names.
Slim Lewis allegedly forged at least 17 names; Godfrey, at least 10; Lena Lewis, at least 7; and Elliott, at least 9.
