One person was taken to a hospital after part of a ceiling collapsed in a building where about 500 people were attending a program for prospective students and their families.
The university says in a news release that a small section of the balcony overhang at Schwab Auditorium fell at about 11:25 this morning. The auditorium was evacuated.
The person taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center was treatment for minor injuries. Another person was examined by EMTs on the scene and then released.
Building engineers and environmental health and safety teams are currently assessing the building. The building is closed until further notice.
