The 18-year-old Warren County man wanted for convincing his 15-year-old girlfriend to run away with him has been caught in Maine after, at separate times, telling a husband and wife different stories about themselves.
Kyle Bedow of Grand Valley was picked up in Franklin County, Maine, Wednesday after the husband and wife – an insurance agent and a waitress – were talking to each other about the young couple they had met. When they realized they were talking about the same people, but the stories were different, they did an Internet search, learned Bedow was wanted and contacted police.
A short time later they saw Bedow’s rental car and pulled him over. He was sent to jail to await extradition to Warren County. He is facing felony charges of interference with the custody of a child and concealing the whereabouts of a child. Authorities in Maine say he may be facing charges there as well.
15-year-old Reaghan Chase, also of Grand Valley, was taken into protective custody. The pair had been missing since September 29.
