The July meeting of the MJ Ryan Funny Bunnies 4-H club was jam-packed with information for its members. The meeting started out in traditional fashion, with member James Green leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Michaelah Hatcher following up with the 4-H pledge. After a brief treasurer’s report, club vice president Shiloh Hatcher gave an overview of her time at 4-H camp. Her favorite activities included stargazing, the talent show, and the dance on the final night.
Next, Mrs. Ruckdeshel, the club leader, briefed the members on upcoming events such as the next meeting, the Skill-a-thon, Demonstration and Speech night, and the club picnic. Fair books were passed out following that and the leaders showed the students how to enter their rabbits in the McKean County Fair. Members also discussed ways to keep their rabbits healthy by finding the ideal balance of ingredients and vitamins for rabbit food as well knowing the many diseases rabbits can catch. After that, the members partook in a “three-legged bunny race” where they had to tie their feet together and hop to the finish line. The next meeting of the Funny Bunnies will be August 2nd.
