ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – In what has become a yearly occurrence, St. Bonaventure’s Mckenna Maycock has earned a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team selected by CoSIDA.
Maycock landed on the District 1 All-Academic Team for the third straight year and is one of five players from programs in the states of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont to earn the honor. She is one of two Atlantic 10 players selected to the All-District Teams, joining George Mason’s Sarah Kaminski in District 3.
Joining Maycock on the District 1 Team are Lindsey Abed of the University of Hartford, Laura Bagwell-Katalinich of Cornell, Erika Steeves of Brown and Erin Storock of Sacred Heart. The teams were voted on and selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Randolph, N.Y. native graduated early with an undergraduate degree in accounting, owning a 3.97 cumulative GPA. Also a two-time member of the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, she has earned a spot on the University Dean’s List every semester of her college career and has also been on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll each semester.
Now working on her MBA in professional accountancy, she currently owns a 3.91 GPA as a graduate student.
On the court, she has continued to lead the Bonnies in her senior season.
She paces the Bonnies in scoring (12.1 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg) as well as minutes per game (32.8). Over the course of 20 games played this season, she has recorded double-figure scoring 13 times including a pair of 20-point efforts highlighted by a career high 24 points in a Jan. 30 win at Rhode Island.
“If you’re asking for perfect in a student, what you want to get out of a kid — and take the basketball ability part out of it — I’m talking about work ethic, respectful, good teammate, she just checks every single box,” Bonnies head coach Jesse Fleming said. “She’s really coachable … and she’s very, very smart. I’m just going to be proud to say that I got to coach her.”
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
