The St. Louis Cardinals dumped the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday afternoon 6-5 in the rubber match of their three game series at Busch Stadium. Paul Goldschmidt’s three run homer in the seventh won it for the Cardinals. Pirates rookie right fielder Bryan Reynolds had an RBI single and was 2 for 5. Second baseman Kevin Newman had three hits for the Bucs. Pirates starter Chris Archer allowed three runs and five hits in six innings. The Pirates, who dropped five of the six games since the All Star break had 11 hits in the loss.
