The 10th annual Pumpkin Fest is set for Saturday in Downtown Bradford.
Organizer Fred Graham says from food to entertainment, activities and attractions, there will be something for everyone.
There’s a Kid Zone in Veterans Square run by Pitt-Bradford students as well as a rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, hay wagon rides and much more.
Pumpkin Fest is from noon to five p.m., and later in the evening Pitt-Bradford will be hosting award-winning illusionist mind reader Craig Karges at the Bromeley Family Theater:
Award-winning illusionist mind reader Craig Karges will perform Saturday (Sept. 28) at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
The 8 p.m. show in Blaisdell Hall is open to the public. Tickets, which are $20 for the public and $5 for students, can be purchased online at www.upb.pitt.edu/thearts/ and held at will call or at the door.
While Karges has made more than 4 national television appearances on shows like The Tonight Show, CNN and Fox News Channel, he first became popular touring college campuses. Karges has been named Entertainer of the Year six times by the National Association for Campus Activities and was the fifth inductee into the National Campus Entertainment Hall of Fame.
He is the author of three books, “Ignite your Intuition,” a novel, “The Wizard’s Legacy – A Tale of Real Magic” and a memoir of 30 years on the road entertaining at corporate events, theaters, universities and casino showrooms around the world.
Patty Colosimo, director of arts programming at Pitt-Bradford, told The Bradford Era that she wanted to bring Karges to campus after being selected as a volunteer from the audience at one of his shows.
“I was picked from the audience to be onstage and participate in numerous illusions,” she said. “I am skeptical by nature and wasn’t prepared for the mind-blowing outcomes. I have no idea how he does what he does as it seems near impossible — especially when I was right there, up-close, to witness it all. I had to bring him to Pitt-Bradford after that experience.”
