Taxes will be going up in McKean County next year.
Under the budget announced last night, the tax rate will increase by one mill, translating to a one dollar increase for every $1,000 of assessed value.
Officials attributed the increase to rising costs at the County Jail, replacement and repair of equipment, and increases in employee salaries and benefits.
