A Rochester-area man has been charged for allegedly threatening to kill Senator Chuck Schumer and Congressman Adam Schiff because he was upset about impeachment proceedings.
57-year-old Salvatore Lippa II of Greece, NY, allegedly left a death threat in Schiff’s voice mail on January 23 and in Schumer’s on February 4. Capitol Police traced the calls to Lippa. The US Attorney’s Office says he admitted to making the calls.
Lippa faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
