A tractor trailer car hauler hit a state police cruiser that was stopped to help a disabled vehicle on I-86.
Police say at 7:25 p.m. Sunday in the Town of Almond the police car was on the shoulder of the road with its emergency light on providing traffic control when the tractor trailer hit it. The trooper was in the vehicle at the time and was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver was issued multiple tickets, including one for not moving over for emergency vehicles. The state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit assisted and put the tractor trailer out of service.
