A Bradford man is in jail following a police standoff that lasted about an hour this morning on Wildwood Avenue.
Court papers say police got a call at 8:13 a.m. saying a man was attempting to kick in a door to a house and threatening to kill the people inside. The residents told police 39-year-old Michael Sprought was screaming and yelling before making the threats and kicking the door.
A neighbor told police Spought called the people pedophiles and when she told him that was not true he jumped over the banister of her front porch and swung his arms in her direction. When police went to his home to speak with him he wouldn’t come out. At one point there were seven police officers outside the home. He eventually came out on his own.
Sprought is charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, along with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
