A New York state man is dead following a crash Sunday morning near Shinglehouse.
Police say a car driven by 28-year-old Tiffany Prescott of Portville, NY, was on Route 44 traveling at a high rate of speed and went out of control while rounding a curve, left the road, hit a concrete barrier, and spun around.
Her passenger, 24-year-old Ryan Fraier of Lima, New York, was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by District Attorney Stephanie Vettenberg-Shaffer, Deputy Coroner Marty Henneman, Portville EMS, Shinglehouse EMS, Shinglehouse Fire Department and PennDOT.
An accident reconstruction unit was also on the scene. Police say charges are pending.
