The San Francisco Giants topped the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1 at PNC Park last night on WESB Sports.
San Francisco’s Steven Duggar hit a solo homerun in the fifth off Wil Crowe to break a scoreless tie, and the Giants added 2 more runs in the 5th to lead 3-0.
Pirates first baseman Will Craig homered for his first major league hit in the 8th for the Pirates only run of the night. Craig’s contract was selected from Triple-A Indianapolis earlier in the day after he went 5 for 6 with three homers in the previous two games.
Crowe allowed three runs and six hits in five innings with five strikeouts and one walk. The rookie is still looking for his first career win after seven starts.
The Pirates are now 15-22 on the season after losing 6 of their last 8. LHP Tyler Anderson was originally scheduled to start game 2 against the Giants tonight, but the Bucs made a change after last night’s game without providing a reason. Game 2 will start tonight at 6:10 on WESB Sports.
