Kyle Larson earned the Busch Pole Award for Sunday’s Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway, the first race of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Round of 8.
Larson, the regular season champion and winner of last Sunday’s race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, will start on pole for the ninth time in 2021 in the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. His top competition for much of this year, Denny Hamlin, will be next to him in the front row in the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Hamlin’s teammate, Kyle Busch, and Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney will roll from spots three and four, and Joey Logano and Chase Elliot will fill out row three.
Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger will start on pole in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet for Saturday’s Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 335 at Texas, the first race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Round of 8.
The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 from Texas Motor Speedway will air Sunday afternoon at 2 on NBC.
