A Bradford man who failed to show up for his trial and sentencing on a stabbing charge was arrested by the City of Bradford Police.
The Police reportedly received a tip about the whereabouts of 27-year-old Matthew James Howard. Howard had been convicted in absentia on December 20th of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Possessing an Instrument of Crime, and Terroristic Threats. Howard had been free on $1.00 nominal bail and failed to show for his trial.
On Saturday officers conducted a traffic stop on Foreman Street knowing that Howard was in the vehicle. Howard was taken into custody. Officers located and secured a black BB gun with a live .22 round pressed into it that Howard had in his waistband.
Howard was taken to McKean County Jail pending sentencing.
