Area officials, police, and fire companies are expressing their condolences in the death of former State Trooper and Fire Marshal Martin Henneman.
Bradford City Firefighters released a statement saying “Our thoughts and prayers are with Marty and his family. We worked closely with Marty over the years. May he Rest In Peace.”
A statement from the City of Bradford Police Department said “Many of us were fortunate enough to have worked with Marty over the years and learned from his many years of experience. Marty was dedicated to the profession and to the community.”
The Smethport Fire Department released a statement saying “We are thinking of and sending prayers to the Henneman family. Marty worked many scenes with us through his career with the Pennsylvania State Police. He was a good man that treated people with respect and was level headed. Rest Easy, Marty.”
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer released a statement saying “Members of the District Attorney’s Office express our sympathies to the family of our friend, Marty Henneman. Marty was a dedicated member of our law enforcement community, having enjoyed an incredible career with the Pennsylvania State Police and the Coroner’s Office. Marty’s dedication was obvious to anyone who encountered him. Marty would respond to a scene without hesitation and his experience was a tremendous asset. Marty was a family man above all else and his pride for his family was evident to all of us. On behalf of the District Attorney’s Office, I extend my gratitude to Marty and deepest sympathies for his family.”
Henneman was killed in a motorcycle accident in Putnam County, Indiana, on Sunday.
