Bradford Parishes Merged into St. Bernard's, Staying Open

Our Mother of Perpetual Help, St. Francis, and St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Churches. Our Mother of Perpetual Health merged with St. Francis in 2017, and all three merged under the St. Bernard's name in February 2023



None of the Catholic Churches in the Bradford area will be closing, although they are all being merged into one parish.

The Diocese of Erie has announced that St. Francis parish had been merged into St. Bernard’s. Father John Jacquerel, the Pastor of both St. Bernard’s and St. Francis, petitioned Bishop Lawrence Persico to merge the parishes last fall.

Our Mother of Perpetual Help, which had been merged with St. Francis in 2017, will also become part of St. Bernard’s.

    This is not completely accurate, read the bulletin link. The church in Lewis Run will not have any Masses said at it after the end of February. Very sad for the elderly Catholic population in Lewis Run.

      Thank you for the elaboration. The planned closure of Lewis Run was not mentioned in the report we received.
