While Tucker the Dog has only received $2,000 of the $22,500 total pledged for information leading to the arrest of Michael Burham, Tucker’s human mom Cindy Ecklund reports that the so-called Hero Dog has been receiving unofficial rewards from across the country.
“[We] came out the door the other day and there was a balloon and a bag of treats for him. We just got a package from a gentleman in Kentucky or a family in Kentucky thanking us with some treats for him.”
The Ecklunds are also making sure that Tucker has been properly rewarded for his work.
“There is a ribeye steak in the fridge waiting for him after all this is over.”
While the Ecklunds are expected to receive all of the rewards offered in the case, CrimeStoppers of Warren County went out of their way to specify that their $2,000 of the reward fund was for Tucker, with the Ron and Cindy Ecklund only receiving it on hisbehalf.
Tucker’s barking was what alerted the Ecklunds to Burham’s presence in the woods behind their home on Saturday. The interaction led directly to Burham’s capture.
