A traffic stop leads to a Kane woman being convicted on charges related to stolen property and firearms.
According to District Attorney Vettenburg-Shaffer, Pennsylvania State Police performed a traffic stop on July 19th during which they found a firearm. The vehicle belonged to a person who was not supposed to have possession of a firearm. Additionally they learned that Kane Borough Police were investigating burglary where firearms and crossbows had been stolen. Through the investigation into these incidents, troopers learned that the missing items may be located at the home of Marily Woodford McMahon.
Troopers testified that they found in McMahons bedroom, several long guns and hand guns, including two sawed-off shotguns and a firearm with the serial number scratched off, as well as several crossbows. They were found stacked together leaning against the nightstand under a child’s blanket, several under the bed and laying atop the dresser as well. Three of the firearms and crossbows were taken during the Kane burglary.
McMahon is set for sentencing on September 7th.
