The franchise owner for the Bradford and Olean Burger King restaurants is being bought out by the chain’s parent company.
Restaurant Brands International Inc., the parent company of Burger King and Popeye’s chains, has agreed to buy Syracuse based Carrols restaurants in a $1 billion cash deal.
Carrols owns and operates over 1000 Burger King restaurants, including the restaurants on East Main Street and on West State Street in Olean.
Burger King ultimately plans to refranchise the vast majority of the portfolio to new or existing smaller franchise operators who live in their local communities, a process expected to take five to seven years. In the meantime, the chain plans to invest over $600 million to renovate and remodel around half of the existing restaurants.
Renovate and remodel, so their prices can go up like McDonald’s, no thank you.
Just tear it down and put in a sonic….
