A Portville woman employed at Allegheny Store Fixtures was arrested in Michigan Thursday for alleged embezzlement.
City of Bradford Police charged 30-year-old Lisa Marie Thomas with felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, two separate felony counts of forgery, felony access device fraud and possession of a counterfeit access device.
The charges stem from an investigation in July 2024 where police allegedly discovered Thomas had fraudulently produced, forged, and cashed company checks without authorization, resulting in a total loss of just under $30,000.
Thomas had allegedly fled to Michigan during the original investigation and through collaborative efforts with Michigan Law Enforcement, she was apprehended and extradited back to McKean County.
Thomas was remanded to McKean County Jail on $50,000 bail.
