An arrest was made Tuesday in the investigation into the theft of funds from the “Bradford Pumpkin Fest” finance account.
City of Bradford Police revealed that over $6,500 had been taken from the account without authorization.
Through surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as 44-year-old Justin Ray Hartsel, and a warrant of arrest was obtained.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department recently took Hartsel into custody on unrelated theft charges in Allegany.
City of Bradford Police Department extradited Hartsel on charges of felony theft, felony idfentity theft, felony use of an access device and felony receiving stolen property.
Hartsel wa remanded to jail McKean County Jail on $150,000 bail.
Hartsel was also arraigned on a separate warrant for possession of controlled substances with that bail set at $5,000 cash.
Justin R. Hartsel had no affiliation with the Pumpkin Fest board or personnel.
