A Kane man who allegedly fought with two state troopers at UPMC Kane had a hearing rescheduled to next month.
40-year-old Brian Depto was scheduled for court on Thursday but was continued to April 14.
He is charged with two felony counts each of aggravated assault on designated individuals, assault of law enforcement and simple assault as well as one count of resisting arrest, two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of harassment.
Charges stem from the morning of March 10, Pennsylvania State Police responded to Bliss Hill Road where Depto was allegedly experiencing a mental health crisis and lying naked in a field and was taken to UPMC Kane.
Hours later, two state troopers were dispatched to the hospital for an unruly patient, where Depto allegedly resisted arrest.
The troopers deployed their tasers four times, but Depto allegedly kept fighting about 10 minutes and spit on both troopers.
He was arraigned March 10 and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
It seems rather stupid to put a man in jail who is going through a mental crisis. Furthermore the officers were fully aware of this when they were called out. He should have been admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Grow up boys and quit playing GI JO
