The Olean City Council authorized the transfer of $50,000 from the sewer fund balance to a newly created sewer study capital fund to evaluate the pump stations at South Fourth Street, Martha Avenue and Adams Street.
This study is due to what the Seneca Nation of Indians call persistent problems with the Olean Wastewater Treatment Plant, which has discharged over 400,000 gallons of untreated sewage into the Allegany River since last April.
