The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation has announced its upcoming Link and Learn Seminar “Artificial Intelligence for Nonprofits” is scheduled for May 20 from 12 to 1 p.m. in The Hub, 301 North Union St., Olean, New York.
This enlightening session will be led by Dr. Anne Foerst, a distinguished professor of computer science at St. Bonaventure University. Dr. Foerst is renowned for her interdisciplinary work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, theology and human identity. Her research delves into the ethical and philosophical implications of AI, exploring how emerging technologies influence our understanding of personhood and community.
Dr. Foerst’s credentials include a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Bochum, Germany, a master’s in theology from the University of Bonn, and bachelor’s degrees in computer science and philosophy from the University of Bonn, as well as a bachelor’s in theology from the University of Wuppertal. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
In this seminar, Dr. Foerst will examine the rapid advancements in AI and their potential impact on nonprofit organizations and society at large. Attendees will gain insights into how AI technologies can be harnessed to enhance mission-driven work while also considering the ethical considerations that accompany these tools.
