11 local nonprofit organizations have received grants at varying amounts from the Community Fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.
The Community Fund is an unrestricted fund that supports grants responsive to the community’s changing needs. Proposals are assessed by a committee of trusted professionals and active community volunteers on organization strength, community need or opportunity, feasibility and community impact.
The Community Fund has allocated over $260,000 in grants to the nonprofit organizations serving the greater Cattaraugus region since the fund was established in 2004.
Organizations receiving grants from the Community Fund in the latest grantmaking cycle include:
· Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System – $2,500 for summer reading at local libraries
· Immanuel Christian Childcare – $2,500 for a commercial gas cooking range
· Southern Tier Catholic School – $2,000 for the student laptop upgrade project
· Total Senior Care, Inc. – $1,600 for Hands in the Dirt, Hearts in the Garden
· HomeCare & Hospice – $1,300 for Care on the Go: empowering hospice nurses with technology
· Olean Business Development Operations, LLC dba CA-DIDI – $1,068 for 3D printed microbots: designing, prototyping and fabricating
· Interfaith Caregivers Inc. – $1,000 for hospital bed mattresses
· Allegany Little League – $1,000 for a portable pitching mound
· Allegany Limestone Youth Football and Cheer – $1,000 for Cheer 2025
· The Salvation Army – $750 for cleaning supplies for vulnerable community members for preventative health
· Brookside Community – $600 for enhanced visits with grandchildren
Grant applications for the Community Fund are accepted in two funding cycles: The April 15 deadline for consideration at the May board meeting and the October 15 deadline for consideration at the November board meeting.
