United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties has awarded $98,125 in community grants to 18 programs serving residents of Cattaraugus County. These investments reflect United Way’s commitment to strengthening families, supporting youth, and meeting basic needs across the region.
“These grants are made possible by the generosity of our local donors,” said Susan McAuley, Executive Director. “Each program addresses a real, local need, whether it’s food for a struggling family, child care for working parents, or support for our seniors.”
The following programs received support, offering services that directly impact families, youth, and seniors throughout the region:
- Fighting Hunger & Homelessness: Grants to FeedMore WNY, Genesis House, The Warming House, Catholic Charities, and The Salvation Army help ensure food and shelter are available to those in crisis.
- Investing in Youth: Programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bona Buddies, Girl Scouts, Scouting America, Special Olympics, and Kids ROC provide mentorship, recreation, and developmental support for local children and teens.
- Family & Health Resources: Support for EPIC’s family engagement program, HomeCare & Hospice, Interfaith Caregivers, and CBA Vision Rehabilitation helps parents, caregivers, and individuals of all ages access crucial services.
- Affordability & Access: YMCA child care scholarships and utility shutoff assistance are part of United Way’s ongoing efforts to reduce barriers and improve economic stability for ALICE households—those who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, but Employed.
United Way’s grants are designed to build community resiliency, improve health outcomes, and create more equitable opportunities for all.
The United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties mobilizes the caring power of the community to help neighbors thrive. The organization works alongside nonprofits, businesses, and local governments to address education, financial stability, health, and community resiliency.
